Day two Lumsden to Queenstown ... 103 ks

Another good day on the saddle. We were to start at 0730 but big Al was slow to get going only by a couple of minutes. after yesterday it took a bit to get going. The first 60ks to Kingston we had the sun on our faces and the wind on our backs which was great. The average was at about 29.9. Tod was busy taking photos along the way racing up ahead to get the best shot.

We stopped at Kingston for a great cup of coffee and a sausage roll which came back to haunt me along the way. More photos some you will see some you will not. For the next 50 ks along the east shore of Lake Wakatipu was great sights but the lake funnelled the wind into a strong head wind for us.

Traffic was light but what there was was considerate. Along the way was only two sets of road works, we saw 10 road kills (they have to be fresh to be counted), and we went on only one single lane bridge.

Last night Al was voted "King Richard" for the day due to leaving it to the last minute to pump up his tyres. Todd was voted for today because he left two bags in his room at Lumsden, thank goodness for Ange, where would we be without her

It was into town for a nice dinner, preparing our self for the big climb up the Crown Range tomorrow, so bye for now

Cheers

Shane.
